Privacy Policy

Introduction

This privacy policy explains how SH Info collects and uses personal data when you visit our website. We operate under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. We are the data controller for any personal data processed via this site.

What we collect

SH Info is a static informational site. We do not run a user-account system, we do not process payments, and we do not host a discussion forum. The personal data we process is limited to the following categories: server-log information (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp) generated automatically by our hosting infrastructure; contents of any email you send us; and aggregated, non-identifying analytics data if you have not opted out of the anonymous analytics cookie described in our cookie policy.

Lawful basis for processing

Our lawful basis for processing server logs is legitimate interest — specifically, security monitoring, abuse prevention and technical debugging. Our lawful basis for processing email correspondence is legitimate interest in responding to your enquiry. Any additional categories (for example, analytics) are processed on the basis of consent, which you can withdraw at any time via our cookie preferences.

How long we keep data

Server logs are retained for 30 days and then deleted. Email correspondence is retained for 24 months from the last communication and then deleted or anonymised. Anonymised analytics data is retained for 14 months.

Sharing and international transfers

We do not sell personal data. We do not share personal data with advertisers because we do not carry advertising. We share personal data with our hosting provider (as a data processor) strictly to operate the site. If the hosting provider stores data outside the UK, that transfer is covered by standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision recognised by the UK.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to be informed about the processing of your personal data, to access your personal data, to rectify inaccurate personal data, to have your personal data erased in certain circumstances, to restrict processing, to data portability, to object to processing, and rights in relation to automated decision-making and profiling. To exercise any of these rights, contact us via the email address on the contact page.

Cookies

Our use of cookies is described in the separate cookie policy. In brief, we set no third-party cookies and no advertising cookies. Any first-party cookies are strictly necessary for the site to function.

Data security

We hold server logs and email correspondence on infrastructure with encryption in transit (HTTPS via TLS) and at rest. Access to personal data is limited to the editorial team on a need-to-know basis.

Children

SH Info is not directed at children. Our content covers regulated gambling markets and is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly process personal data of anyone under 18.

Complaints

If you believe we have handled your personal data incorrectly, please contact us first so we can try to resolve the issue. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. The ICO can be contacted via its own published channels.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage for a reasonable period.
